My Favorite Morning Chai Tea - 2c

1 1/2 cups water
1 stick cinnamon; 1 inch long
8 whole cardamom pods; lightly crushed
8 whole cloves
 sprinkle roasted fennel seeds
 sprinkle fenugreek seeds
2/3 cup milk
5 tsp brown sugar
3 tsp loose black tea; preferred Assam

For stovetop: Put water in pan. Add cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves and
bring to a boil. Cover, turn heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Add
milk and sugar and bring to a simmer. Throw in tea leaves, cover and turn
off heat. After 2 minutes, strain and serve.

For microwave: Place water, cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves in
microwaveable container. Place in oven and cook on HIGH for 5 minutes, or
until the water boils. When it beeps, place on MED heat for 2 minutes. Add
milk and sugar and cook on MED for 2 minutes. Throw in tea leaves, cover
and take out of oven. After 2 minutes, strain and serve.
